Privacy Policy for Whiteboard Lens

Last updated: April 2026

What data Whiteboard Lens collects

On the first launch of each day, Whiteboard Lens contacts our server to check whether a required app update is available. As part of this request, the app sends a SHA-256 hash of a randomly generated, device-local identifier. This hash is used solely to count how many devices use the app each day. The hash cannot be reversed to identify your device or you, is not linked to your identity, and is never shared with third parties.

No name, email address, IP address, location, or any other personal data is collected or stored.

Camera access

Whiteboard Lens requests access to your device camera solely to capture photos of whiteboards for scanning. Camera frames are processed on-device in real time to detect whiteboard edges. No camera data is transmitted off your device.

Photo library access

Whiteboard Lens may request access to your photo library if you choose to import an existing photo. Photos are accessed only when you explicitly select them. No photos are transmitted off your device.

Image processing

All image processing (perspective correction, enhancement) happens entirely on your device using Apple's Core Image framework. Processed images are stored only in the app's local library on your device.

Sharing

When you use the share function, you choose where to send your scanned image. Whiteboard Lens passes the file to iOS's standard share sheet — the app has no involvement in or knowledge of where you send it.

Children

Whiteboard Lens does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13.
